AMUNDSON NAMED REGIONAL SIRE ANALYSTDEFOREST, WISCONSIN – December 17, 2008 – ABS Global is pleased to announce Mitchell Amundson has been named a Regional Sire Analyst for the Eastern United States. “We are very excited to have Mitch as a part of the ABS Sire Analyst team,” stated Todd Kronberg, Director of North American Dairy Product Development. “With his passion for the dairy industry and outstanding dairy cattle genetics knowledge and evaluation abilities, Mitch will be a great addition to our team.” Amundson has previous experience with ABS as he has been working as a Genetic Management System® (GMS®) Specialist since June 2007. In this position, he worked with GMS Evaluators across the country, developed genetic plans for large commercial dairy producers and helped coordinate GMS training schools. Amundson also completed the 2005 Midwest Regional Sales and Service Internship and was the GMS Intern from November 2006-May 2007. Amundson was raised on his family’s dairy farm located in Mount Hope, Wisc. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2007 earning a Bachelor of Science in Dairy Science with a business emphasis. As a member of the UW-Madison Dairy Judging Team, Amundson competed at the 2006 National Intercollegiate Dairy Judging Contest at World Dairy Expo and placed first in reasons and was an All-American. Amundson has also officiated at several regional Midwest dairy shows. In his new position, Amundson will be responsible for the evaluation, selection and acquisition of genetically superior dairy sires in the Eastern United States.
