DIVERSE PEDIGREES HIGHLIGHT AUGUST SIRE SUMMARY GRADUATES


DEFOREST, WISCONSIN – September 16, 2008 - ABS Global added thirteen new sires to its active global line-up with the release of the August 2008 sire summary data. The new additions to the ABS active line-up included eight Holsteins, three Jerseys, one Brown Swiss and one Ayrshire.

"ABS had another highly successful sire summary with the addition of these sires to the ABS active line-up," stated Scott Bentley, Global Dairy Product Manager. “Backed by tremendous cow families and unique pedigrees, this group of outstanding sires will provide our customers around the world with the genetic tools they need to increase profitability on their dairy operation no matter what the environment.”

A highlight of the August Sire Summary graduates was 29HO11753 SANDY-Valley Talent-ET 97%I. SANDY is a Juror Ford X Rudolph that hails from the Dellia family and debuted in the top ten on the August Holstein USA Top 100 TPI list at +1962 TPI. SANDY daughters will track straight ahead on a correct set of feet and legs and possess a wide rear udder with a deep crease. SANDY is an industry leader for Daughter Pregnancy Rate (+2.2), Fat (+73 lbs.), Net Merit (+581), Feet and Leg Composite (+2.75) and TPI.

An Outside son from Ards Cousteau Ruth EX-92, 29HO12408 Ards REUNION*TV is a graduate of the Genus ABS Cornerstone Program in the UK. With 121 daughters in 81 herds, this Rock Solid® sire has proven to be an excellent fat producer at +56 lbs. REUNION sires strong, wide cows that carry a well-attached udder with a deep seam.

29HO11609 Coldsprings HATLEY*TV is an Outside son that excels in health and management traits. At +4.0 Productive Life and 2.73 Somatic Cell, HATLEY daughters remain in the herd for generations while producing quality milk. Daughters also possess strong fore udder attachments; high, wide rear udders and ideal teat placement. HATLEY is a member of the ABS Sexation® line-up and will have sex-sorted semen available.

29HO11865 Glenn-Ann PENDLETON-ET*TV brings dairy producers an appealing sire stack of Stormatic x Rudolph x Formation. PENDLETON excels in his type composites being +2.98 Type, +2.93 Udder Composite and +2.51 Foot & Leg Composite. Udders are held high above the hock with snug attachments and parlor perfect teat placement. PENDLETON is also a calving ease sire at 7%.

29HO11685 Honeycrest PEPPER-ET*TV is a PIPPEN x Patron. PEPPER sires milk and components, being +1412 lbs Milk, +45 lbs Protein and +50 lbs Fat. He also excels in production composites being +406 Net Merit while ranking in the top 100 for TPI. Daughters exhibit a great dairy quality with an ideal width and slope to their rumps.

29HO11677 Crescentmead ENFORCER-ET*TV is a Forbidden son backed by six generations of Excellent cows including fifth dam, Northcroft Ella Elevation EX-97-4E. ENFORCER boasts an impressive linear pattern being over two points on almost all of his body and udder traits. His daughters are balanced, capacious cows with style. They possess an ideal width and slope to their rumps and a high, wide rear udder with +2.64 Udder Composite.

29HO11718 Mainstream MACHO-ET*TV is a Rock Solid® graduate. He is a Morty x Durham that traces back to ABS’ customer satisfaction sire 29HO8614 MARATHON. A great source of milk (+1526), nearly three points on type, and a strong linear chart make MACHO an appealing sire for all environments.

29HO11761 Windsor-Manor ZAKARIAH-ET*cv provides dairy producers with a unique sire stack as he is a Finley son from Windsor-Manor Macho Zary. ZAKARIAH excels in health and management traits being +1.3 Productive Life and is 6% calving ease.

The first of three Jersey graduates, 29JE3464 Kilgus Jace KASPAR, is a Jace x HALLMARK backed by four generations of Excellent cows. KASPAR daughters have a great will to milk being +1301 Milk, +50 Protein and +349 Net Merit. They also have high, wide rear udders with ideal teat placement.

29JE3467 Den-Kel Paramount MYGENT-P-ET is a Paramount son and a maternal brother to ABS sire 29JE3309 Den-Kel MYWAY-P-ET. Being +1659 Milk, +49 Protein and +61 Fat, MYGENT-P sires extreme production and components. He also is easily the highest ranking polled sire on the JPI list.

29JE3471 Margandale Cherry CHAMP is a high type, high production sire. He is a Jace x Barber x Berretta son that sires tall, dairy cows with well-attached udders. CHAMP daughters produce high volumes (+1456) of high component (+66 Fat), quality milk (2.91 SCS).

29BS3789 R-Hart CD CASH-ET is a new Brown Swiss sire available from ABS. CASH is a Dominate x Prelude x Babaray and is backed by a deep pedigree including his dam, R-Hart PC Catherine-ET EX-90, and maternal grand dam, R-Hart C B Christian*TW EX-92. CASH sires tremendous milk (+1102) and components (+42 Fat and +36 Protein). His daughters are well-uddered cows with wide rear udders and strong clefts that milk out quickly. Daughters also track straight ahead and posses a deep heel and a shorter toe.

A new addition to the Ayrshire line-up, 29AY7649 Palmyra Pardner BALTIMORE is a Pardner x Ripken x Jetstar. BALTIMORE daughters will last and produce quality milk as he is +0.7 Productive Life and 2.89 SCS. His daughters are tall, dairy cows that possess high and wide rear udders with a strong cleft.
