NELSON NAMED ABS CORNERSTONE® SPECIALISTDEFOREST, WISCONSIN – August 8, 2008 – ABS Global is pleased to announce Brian Nelson as Western Region ABS Cornerstone Specialist. “Brian’s lifelong experience in the dairy industry as well as his accomplishments in dairy cattle evaluation and showing will help him to succeed in this position and he will be a valuable asset to the ABS Cornerstone team,” stated David Dunlop, ABS Cornerstone Program Manager. Nelson graduated from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo in June with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dairy Science with a concentration in dairy production. He grew up working on and is currently the Assistant Manager of Nelson Farms in Turlock, California. Nelson was a member of the Cal Poly Dairy Judging Team and the California Holstein Association. As an ABS Cornerstone Specialist, Nelson will work in Northern California and Idaho. His responsibilities there will include working with field personnel to recruit and maintain current ABS Cornerstone herds. He will work closely with dairy producers to ensure that information on ABS Cornerstone progeny is accurately recorded to maximize the ABS Cornerstone benefits for these herds. In addition, Nelson will provide daughter photos and tour support promoting ABS sires.
