AMUNDSON NAMED GMS SPECIALIST
DEFOREST, WISCONSIN – June 27, 2007 – ABS Global is pleased to announce Mitchell Amundson has been named a Genetic Management Systems® (GMS) Specialist. “We are very excited to have Mitch as a part of the ABS GMS team,” stated Amy Knuth, ABS Global GMS Manager. “His passion for the dairy industry and outstanding cattle evaluation abilities along with his communication skills make Mitch a great addition to our team and ABS.” Amundson graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2007 earning a Bachelor of Science in Dairy Science with a business emphasis. Amundson was very active in the Badger Dairy Club, Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity and Dairy Judging Team. In the Badger Dairy Club, Amundson served as the American Dairy Science Association (ADSA) Officer, 13th Badger Invitational Sale Selection Chair and World Dairy Expo Show Ring Chair. In addition, Amundson was named the Diamond-Reedal Award winner for high individual in oral reasons at the 2006 World Dairy Expo. Amundson was raised on his family’s dairy farm located in Mount Hope, Wisc. His responsibilities on the farm included milking, sire selection and record keeping. He also coordinated the farm’s flushing program and managed the show string. Amundson has previous experience with ABS as he completed the 2005 Midwest Regional Sales and Service Internship and was the GMS Intern from November 2006-May 2007. In his position as GMS Specialist, Amundson will be splitting his time between the DeForest office and the field. In the office, he will be responsible for the day-to-day activities, training and assisting with the GMS Evaluator program. He will also be working in southern Wisconsin as a GMS Evaluator where he will be responsible for helping customers develop a more systematic approach to their reproductive breeding program.
