ABS CORNERSTONE™ AND GMS® SUCCESS SPOTLIGHT PROGENY REVIEWDEFOREST, WISCONSIN – June 21, 2007- ABS Global prides itself in setting the industry standard in programs and services, and the ABS Cornerstone Progeny Test Program along with the Genetic Management System® are no exception. In fact, both programs have seen considerable achievements this year. ABS Cornerstone continues to expand and diversify their global genetic offering by increasing their bull line-up by 20 percent this year, and by adding ABS Cornerstone Specialists to their field staff. GMS also had a record year with over 2.1 million cows already mated in this fiscal year (a 9.6% increase on last year), and supports that growth with additions to both their support and field staff. The success of these two industry-leading programs was evidenced by the outstanding quality of daughters that were seen as part of the recent 2007 Progeny Review held in California. “Not only does this progeny review highlight the outstanding daughters of ABS global leaders, it showcases the accomplishments of ABS Cornerstone and GMS,” commented Mark Smith, Global Product Development Manager. “These results show that our diverse product offering coupled with programs and services are meeting producer needs in this demanding market and can do so around the world.” Josey Morris, United States Progeny Promotions Supervisor added, “The 2007 Progeny Review was once again a great showcase of ABS-sired progeny. We are very fortunate to have programs like ABS Cornerstone and GMS to develop the type of cattle we saw on the tour and are thankful to the producers who allowed us to view progeny at their dairies.” Forty seven participants from around the globe, including individuals from Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States, took part in the 2007 Progeny Review. The tour group had the opportunity to review daughters of ABS Global leading sires like 29HO11111 BOLTON, 29HO10124 BOLIVER, 29HO10644 GARRISON, 29HO10792 JET STREAM, 29HO9023 ROY and 94HO10276 DUNDEE, just to name a few. In addition, the tour showcased progeny of future ABS leaders like May new release sires 29HO11396 NORSKI, 29HO11280 MARLON, 29HO11145 AMMO and 29HO11403 MASON. Along with viewing daughters of global ABS sires, tour participants were treated to dinner and a roundtable discussion at the Richard Westra Dairy in Tulare, Calif. This roundtable discussion focused on the ABS commitment to offering producers breed-leading health and fitness sires and thus launched the ABS Durabulls™ brand. The last day of the tour featured a management tour stop at Johann Dairy, Fresno, Calif. On this stop, participants saw first hand the use of ABS programs and services like ABS Cornerstone and GMS and their success as part of the western herd management style.
