COUNTS NAMED GMS® INTERN
DEFOREST, WISCONSIN – May 29, 2007 - ABS has named Brooke Reinagel-Counts the Genetic Management System® (GMS) Intern for the 2007 summer. “Brooke’s background and knowledge combined with her dedication and enthusiasm for the dairy industry will make her a valuable asset to the GMS team,” stated Amy Knuth, GMS Manager. Counts is a senior at the University of Florida majoring in Animal Science with a dairy emphasis. She transferred to the University of Florida after attending Central Florida Community College earning an Associates Degree in Animal Science. Counts has been extremely involved in the dairy industry. She is a member of the American Jersey Cattle Association, Holstein Association USA and the Red & White Dairy Cattle Association. Counts developed a herd of Registered Holsteins, Jerseys and Brown Swiss where she was responsible for record keeping, sire selection and managing show animals. On campus, Counts is an active member of the University of Florida Dairy Science Club, currently serving as president, and the dairy judging team. Counts was a teaching assistant for a reproductive physiology and endocrinology of farm animals course at the University of Florida. She has also volunteered time to coach her county 4-H dairy judging team. As the GMS summer intern, Counts primary responsibility will be to develop training modules on our corporate web training program. She will also help the GMS team process GMS herds and input data.
