ABS RELEASES SEVENTEEN NEW SIRES


DEFOREST, WISCONSIN – February 19, 2007 - ABS Global added seventeen
world class new sires to its active line-up with the release of the February 2007 sire summary data on Monday, February 12. The graduates included fourteen exceptional Holsteins and three outstanding Jerseys.

"These new release ABS sires are a great addition to our globally strong line-up," stated Scott Bentley, Global Dairy Product Manager. “They offer customers the complete package of production, type, health and management traits that produce profitable daughters for dairy producers around the world, regardless of the management systems they utilize.”

29HO11054 Mayval ACCENT-ET*TL*TV hails from a long line of high producing, high butterfat cows as his dam, grand dam and sisters have all tested from 4.6% to 5.0% butterfat on excellent milk records. ACCENT daughters are great uddered cows with exceptionally high, wide rear udders and strong fore udder attachments. With a low Somatic Cell Score, favorable Daughter Pregnancy Rate and high Productive Life, ACCENT is an ideal bull to use in commercially managed operations as his daughters are hard working cows that both produce and reproduce.

29HO11123 Dirigo ANDERS-ET*TL*TV is sired by Juror Ford and backed by a strong cow family with 10 generations of cows scored VG or EX. In addition, ANDERS is from the same maternal line as popular ABS sire 29HO8338 Wil-Hart ALVIN-ET. With +2.45 Udder Composite, ANDERS sires outstanding young cows that have excellent udder attachments, a deep seam and great teat placement.

29HO11239 Hunsberger AVALANCHE*TL*TV transmits excellent production and health and management traits provided by his unique sire stack of Elation x Amel. AVALANCHE is a Rock Solid® sire (100 daughters in 60 herds) that will increase milk volume (+1835M) and lower Somatic Cell Scores (2.81). Daughters track straight from the rear, have an ideal leg when viewed from the side and a deep heel.

94HO11035 Brilea BARRICK-ET*TL*TV is a graduate from the ABS Canada/St. Jacobs ABC Cornerstone Program. BARRICK hails from a famous cow family as his 3rd dam is the world-renowned Snow-N Denises Dellia EX-95. BARRICK sires balanced, dairy cows that stand on a solid set of feet and legs. Daughters possess shallow udders with superb fore and rear udder attachments. BARRICK can be used in heifer pens as he has a low calving ease score (6%).

29HO11056 End-Road Marshall BASIC*TL*TV increases both lifetime production and profitability thorough his high milk production (+2033 PTAM), low Somatic Cell Score (2.97) and high Productive Life (+2.0). BASIC hails from the same maternal line as popular ABS sire 29HO10124 End-Road Pvf BOLIVER-ET. BASIC daughters have well attached udders with a defined cleft.

ABS Italia sire, 29HO10972 Ceresio BENARES-ET*TL*TV is backed by an ABS sire stack of BOMBAY and WELLS and hails from a high type cow family in Italy. BENARES daughters are low maintenance cows that will work well in commercial dairy herds. A Rock Solid sire (100 daughters in 60 herds), BENARES transmits a high protein test and daughters that stand on an excellent feet and legs. Udders are well above the hock with an exceptionally high, wide rear udder attachment.

29HO11255 Dev-Lin DAYTON-ET*TL*TV offers a combination of two great pedigrees, as he is a Durham son backed by an extremely deep and successful Midwest cow family with the 12 nearest dams averaging 88 points. DAYTON daughters are tall and strong with great style and balance throughout. DAYTON is also an excellent source for milk yield being +1185 PTAM and a favorable Daughter Pregnancy Rate (DPR). He can be used in heifer pens as he has a low calving ease score (7%).

29HO11362 Overside DRAGON-ET*TL*TV 97%I sires moderate-sized dairy cows who stand on tremendous sets of feet and legs with deep heels. This Juror Ford son is a Rock Solid sire with high components and is from the European branch of the Snow-N Denises Dellia EX-95 family. With +2.13 Udder Composite and over two points on almost all udder traits, DRAGON will produce consistent daughters with long lasting udders. Dragon has milking daughters in the U.S. and the UK.

A highlight of the ABS new graduates is 29HO11109 Far-O-La GRAYSON-ET*TL*TV 97% I. GRAYSON sires balanced, powerful cows that have an outstanding set of feet and legs as they track straight ahead, have an ideal set when viewed from the side and a steep foot angle. He is a Juror Ford son from the Mar-Bil Cleitus Grace cow family, but hails from the same prefix that also bred ABS favorites 29HO1088 DRAKE-ET, 29HO10994 DAGWOOD-ET, 29HO10871 REGAN-ET and 29HO10999 MONONA-ET. With +2.6 Productive Life and 2.73 Somatic Cell Score, GRAYSON is a solid management trait sire. He is also an elite TPI sire and is +2.25 Udder Composite, +1.94 Foot and Leg composite and +1.79 for Type.

29HO11293 Eastview MENASHA-ET*TL*TV comes to ABS from the same farm as 29HO9568 Eastview NBO REVENUE Mattie—Eastview Farms in Virginia.. MENASHA combines the dairy frames of BW Marshall with the low SCS of Mtoto. MENASHA is an elite type sire at +2.31 PTAT and his daughters are tall, angular cows with a deep, open rib and high, wide rear udders.

29HO11212 Regancrest-RB MONROE-ET*TL*TV is a Magna son from the world-famous Snow-N Denises Dellia EX-95 family. He sires daughters with outstanding feet and legs and milk components. Daughters are strong, wide cows with good body depth. MONROE’s low calving ease score (5%) make him a great choice for the heifer pens.

29HO11191 Wauregan-I C MORRIE-ET*TL*TV is one of the first members of the Laurie Sheik cow family to be offered in the ABS line-up. MORRIE’s dam, Crackholm Comestar Memory-ET VG-87-CAN, is one of the most sought after cows as she combined the Laurie Sheik family and Rudolph into one package. MORRIE sires excellent milk production (+1917M) and is also in the ABS top 10 for protein. He excels in his health and management traits and is a calving ease sire (7%). Daughters display the tall, dairy frames and balanced udder improvement the cow family is known for around the world.

29HO12298 Moet RESULT-ET*TL*cv 97%I is a Jocko Besne son from the highly successful Scooter cow family in the MOET herd in the U.K. and he is also a half brother to fellow graduate SKAVLAN. RESULT sires excellent milk production being +1801 PTAM and +54 PTAP. His daughters are long, stylish cows with high and wide rear udder attachments, deep clefts and correct teat placement.

A Juror Ford son, 29HO12360 Moet SKAVLAN*TL*TV 97%I is a half brother to RESULT. SKAVLAN is +1132 PTAM and has outstanding health and management traits being +2.1 Productive Life and 2.90 Somatic Cell Score. Daughters are dairy cows with superb fore and rear udder attachments and a strong udder cleft.

The first of three Jersey graduates is 29JE3348 Gabys Paramount NOAH-ET. NOAH is a Paramount son that will sire daughters with high, wide rear udders that produce high volumes of milk. He also produces profitable, long lasting cows being 2.91 Somatic Cell Score and +3.3 Productive Life.

29JE3346 Forest Glen JEVON-ET is a maternal grandson of Havs Berretta Chief Jade E-95%. Jade has 12 proven sons in A.I. that have consistently sired cattle with high milk and protein yield. JEVON is a high type (+2.0 PTAT), high milk (+1392 PTAM) sire. His daughters are sharp and angular with high, wide rear udder attachments and a strong udder cleft.

The final release for the November 2007 Sire Summary is 29JE3351 O.F. Paramount LEADER. LEADER is a Paramount son, and therefore a paternal brother to IATOLA and ABRAM. LEADER’s dam is a MONTANA daughter from the world favorite O.F. Lester Ladyslipper E-94%. LEADER daughters produce high quality (2.82 SCS) and quantity of milk (+1070PTAM). Daughters are above average stature cows that display outstanding dairyness. LEADER is an ideal mating for cattle with the Danish influence.
