KUHN NAMED RMS® INTERN
DEFOREST, WISCONSIN - January 23, 2007 - ABS has selected Jim Kuhn a Reproductive Management Systems® (RMS) Intern. “Jim’s extensive knowledge and experience in the beef industry along with his enthusiasm and strong work ethic will allow him to be very successful in this internship position,” stated Todd Kranz, Eastern United States Division Manager. Kuhn is currently attending Ohio State University pursuing a degree in Animal Sciences. He has been very active in the beef industry through his work experiences at two prominent beef farms. Most recently, Kuhn has worked with Ferguson Show Cattle. As a show barn worker, he was responsible for cattle care, preparation and presentation of Angus and Angus x Maine show cattle. Last summer, Kuhn interned at Marshall Cattle Company located in Colorado. Marshall Cattle Company consists of 150 head of Angus and Angus x Simmental females and has an extensive embryo transfer program. Kuhn’s responsibilities included A.I. and estrus synchronization, vaccinations, assisting with flush cow program and daily farm tasks. As an RMS intern, Kuhn’s responsibilities will include providing heat detection and insemination service to herds participating in ABS’ RMS. He will also be exposed to other aspects of the business including reproductive performance, monitoring, mating and product sales.
