ABS-SIRED ANIMALS DOMINATE QUEBEC SPRING SHOW AND SALE

DEFOREST, WISCONSIN - May 24, 2006 – ABS-sired animals took home numerous honors during the dairy breeds shows and sales held in conjunction with the Quebec National Holstein Convention.

“These outstanding results from the 2006 Quebec Spring Show and sales are evidence that ABS is home of today’s most exciting high type bulls in the industry,” said Peter Draper, ABS Canada Product Manager. “They will continue to generate global excitement in the show and sale rings throughout the spring, summer and fall.”

In the Black & White Show, 94HO10276 Regancrest DUNDEE EX-95 calves claimed top honors in the Intermediate and Senior Calf classes of the show and a DUNDEE sired cow was the third placing Junior Three-Year-Old cow. He went on to be named the Premier Sire of the Junior Show and Reserve Premier Sire overall of the Black and White Show.

94HO10156 Markwell KITE*RC EX-CAN and 94HO0848 Carrousel DISTRIGENE-ET took home numerous class winners. One of those winners, the top placing Summer Yearling, a DISTRIGENE daughter was named Reserve Junior Champion of the Red and White Show. In the Red and White Cow Show, KITE sired the Grand and Reserve Grand Champions, Parile Kite Alicia and Brookvilla Nesbit Kite.

There were two sales held in conjunction with the National Convention. The Fleury Master Breeder Invitational Sale was held on April 25th and hosted by Ferme Fleury & Fils, Inc. at Victoriaville, Quebec. Bringing in the top bid of the evening was a 29HO12209 Picston SHOTTLE-ET EX-94 daughter, Calbrett Shottle Lela from the great Lylehaven Lila Z. This fancy SHOTTLE calf brought $60,000.

The second high seller, Parile Kite Alicia VG-85, is sired by the ABS sire KITE. Ironically, this Junior Two-Year-old, who sold for $31,800 was named Grand Champion of the Red and White Show held the next day. Three DUNDEE daughters also sold well in the National Spring Sale. Jalroyal Dundee Ruth brought $6200, Team Dundee Ashlyn Type brought $6100 and Blondin Dundee Spicy brought $5200.
