ABS CANADA WELCOMES SCHUURMAN AS RMS® TECHNICIANDEFOREST, WISCONSIN - May 19, 2006 – Henk Schuurman had joined ABS Canada as a Reproductive Management System® (RMS) Technician. He began his new role in early April. “Henk brings a vast knowledge of the dairy industry to his new position at ABS,” states Ben Mayfield, ABS Canada Area Sales Manager. “This knowledge coupled with his previous sales experience will make him a great asset to our Sales Team.” Schuurman comes to ABS with a strong dairy background and experience. He obtained an agriculture degree from Ridgetown College. He then took a position with a competitive A.I. company where he served as a technician and semen sales man. In 2004, he became a dairy specialist with GenerVations in Georgetown, Ontario, Canada, where he was in charge of on-farm animal evaluations for mating programs throughout southwestern Ontario. He also taught on-farm artificial insemination (A.I.) courses to farmers throughout southwestern Ontario. Most recently, he worked at Immo Dykstra, in Mt, Elgin, Canada where he handled day-to-day operations as well as breeding and reproductive management. In addition to his knowledge of the industry and experience with Reproductive Management, Schuurman is fluent in both English and Dutch. In his new position as Reproductive Management Technician, Schuurman will handle daily heat detection, insemination, application of synchronization protocols and records management for a select number of dairy farms in a given geography.
