GALDI JOINS ABS GLOBAL AS COMMUNICATIONS INTERNDEFOREST, WISCONSIN - May 19, 2006- ABS Global has selected Sarah Galdi to fulfill the communications internship for the summer 2006. “Sarah has a strong dairy background and an enthusiasm for the industry,” stated Robin Starkenburg, Global Communications Manager. “That background along with her communication skills will make her an asset to the ABS Communications Team.” Galdi grew up her family’s Registered Holstein farm, Country-Edge Holsteins, located in Brandon, Wisc. Her responsibilities on the farm include calf care, assisting in milking 40 head of cattle, and completing everyday tasks. Galdi will enter her junior year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison this fall majoring in Dairy Science and Agricultural Journalism. On campus, she is active in numerous agricultural clubs and organizations. She is a member of the Association of Women in Agriculture, Badger Dairy Club, National Agri-Marketing Association, and Sigma Alpha. Through these organizations, Galdi has developed a passion for agriculture communication and promotion. She has held numerous officer positions and been honored with several awards. Galdi has served as the president of her 4-H Club and county Junior Holstein Association. She was named the 2005 Fond du Lac County Outstanding Holstein Girl, 2006 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fair 4th Runner-up, and a 2005 Wisconsin Holstein Association Distinguished Junior Member. As the Communications Intern, Galdi will be responsible for assisting in the creation of press releases, and print and promotional materials for various ABS product lines. She will also oversee the development of 2007 Beef and Dairy Calendars.
