ABS NEW RELEASE SIRES DOMINATE BREED LISTSDEFOREST, WISCONSIN - May 9, 2006 - ABS Global added twelve new sires to its active line-up with the release of the May 2006 sire summary data on Monday, May 8. This list of new sires includes many standouts like the top TPI bull in the Holstein Breed, 29HO11111 BOLTON, the number four JPI bull in the Jersey Breed, 29JE3323 JEWELER, and the top ten PTI bull, 29BS3775 COSMOS. "This group of ABS new release sires are extraordinary profit leaders that graduated to the top of their respective breed listings," stated Scott Bentley, Global Dairy Product Manager. "They offer dairy producers the balanced package of type, production and management traits that ABS is known for around the world.” Leading the way is Holstein sire, 29HO11111 Sandy-Valley BOLTON, who claimed the top spot on the official Holstein Association USA Top 100 TPI® list. This outstanding Hershel son hails from one of CONVINCER’s finest daughters, Sandy-Valley Blessing-ET VG-88 and combines elite production and type. He is an ABS leader in many traits at +1949 TPI, +2.52 Udder Composite, +2339 Milk and +92 on Fat pounds. BOLTON sires the correct kind; they are tall, stylish cattle with welded on udders, desirable feet and legs and they are the top producers among their contemporaries. 29HO10765 Luck-E BOBBI-ET, makes cows that are built to last. Like his well known ABS sire MARATHON, BOBBI sires modest sized cows with tremendous width and long-lasting feet and legs. At 2.82, he also excels in Somatic Cell Score and produces sound, quality udders. BOBBI comes from the Luck-E herd of Hampshire, Ill., a herd known for breeding and developing show winners and elite cow families. Rock Solid® (100 daughters in 60 herds) udder improver 29HO10994 Far-O-La RM DAGWOOD comes to ABS from the heart of the Dellia family. This Ricecrest Marshall son is a maternal brother to the globally popular udder and type specialist, 29HO10889 DRAKE. At +2.49 on Udder Composite and over two points on all udder attachment traits, he will sire great uddered daughters. Another bull from the Dellias, 29HO10918 Regan-England DEFOREST-ET is backed by five generations of Gold Medal Dams and Dams of Merit. Although this Rock Solid Hershel son is one of the highest milk bulls from the Dellia family, he combines that production with the family’s well known type pattern. His daughters are tall, long, dairy cows that produce large volumes of milk. 29HO10914 Dewgood DISPATCHER offers producers a unique pedigree stack that transmits longevity and production. This Bench Eddie son is backed by one of DECISION’s best daughters, Dewgood Great Decision EX-90. At nearly 1800 pounds of milk and 80 pounds of Fat, this high Net Merit Dollars bull is sure to increase profits. The Calving Ease Specialist, 29HO10997 Hyde-Park LENOX, combines high production with a balanced linear pattern to earn his +1683 TPI. This 7% Calving Ease CONVINCER son also transmits high volumes of quality milk at 2.71 Somatic Cell Score. He produces consistent daughters with snug, long-lasting udders, dairy strength and overall capacity to compliment his production. These tall, dairy cows are built to last as they have outstanding feet and legs and track correctly. Coming it at number four on the Jersey JPI list is ABS new release 29JE3323 Forest Glen Exceed JEWELER-ET. He is the top ABS JPI and Net Merit bull at +247 and +482, respectively. This Buttercrest EXCEED son and grandson of the well known Havs Chief Berretta Jade E-95% is also a milk and components leader at over 1,100 pounds of milk, 65 pounds of fat and 54 pounds of protein. With this production and his +1.8 on Type, he is a must use bull in the Jersey breed. 29JE3309 Den-Kel Exceed MYWAY-P-ET is another EXCEED son available from ABS. He, like JEWELER, is bred to be a profit improver, but is also a unique polled bull. His daughters will be tall and dairy with high, wide rear udders that produce high quality (2.82 Somatic Cell Score), high component (+.13 Fat percent) milk. They will also stand the test of time at +1.3 Productive Life. ABS Brown Swiss new release 29BS3775 Oak Forest COSMOS-ET graduated into the top ten on the breed’s PTI list and graduates to the top of the ABS PTI list at +176. A Victory Acres Simon Even son out of a former number one CTPI cow in the breed, Oak Forest Jetway Crystal E93, COSMOS is bred to offer the complete package. His tall, open daughters will have snuggly attached udders with high and wide rear udders.
