ABS AND ECOLAB HOST UDDER HEALTH TRAININGDEFOREST, WISCONSIN - April 6, 2006 – ABS Global Technical Services continues to reinforce customer service with applicable science by hosting udder health training sessions. The most recent session was held for both ABS and Ecolab field personnel and took place March 6-8 in York, Pennsylvania. “The ABS Technical Services Department is dedicated to offering the best products and most comprehensive service in the industry,” stated Kylene Anderson, ABS Technical Services Specialist. “For this reason, we present many different training opportunities to our field staff.” Twenty-three individuals from across the United States attended this training session, which was designed to help participants increase the amount of udder care service options they offer to dairy producers. The session focused on ABS udder care products, milking equipment systems, udder health records analysis and troubleshooting milk quality issues. Speakers included Dr. Gene Monfore, ABS Global, Inc., Dr. Roger Thomson of Team Management Concepts, PLC, and Stan Palmer of Ecolab. Attendees also learned necessary skills to complete an udder health discovery survey. The udder health discovery survey will allow field personnel to assess udder health issues and needs for each individual customer. The group visited two large dairies in South Eastern Pennsylvania to conduct hands-on herd udder health evaluations including milking procedures, cow hygiene and teat condition scoring.
