SCHIRM JOINS ABS GLOBAL AS DAIRY ANALYST
DEFOREST, WISCONSIN - January 6, 2006 - ABS Global is proud to announce Larry Schirm as its new Dairy Analyst. This is a newly designed role at ABS, which will specifically utilize Schirm’s unique industry experience and support ABS in continued Global growth. Schirm's impressive long term career in the A.I. industry will be greatly valued as he assists ABS with sales support and training along with direct herd consulting and mating primarily in the Eastern portion of the U.S. His expertise will also be utilized on various international projects. "We are very excited to add Larry's wealth of experience and knowledge to the ABS Global team," said Todd Kranz ABS Global Eastern Division Manager. "He is known by dairy producer's world wide and will be a true asset in our efforts of continued growth in dairy cattle genetics." Schirm is well known for judging dairy cattle shows throughout the world including being a four-time World Dairy Expo Judge. He estimates that he has judged between 200 – 300 shows in the U.S. and a dozen other countries. His A.I. career began in 1982 at Carnation Genetics and more recently he was employed by Alta Genetics. During his time at Alta, he served as a sire analyst, managed sales areas domestically and internationally, and most recently he was the Director of Marketing for the Protein breeds and International Dairy Specialist. Prior to his move into A.I., he was employed by the U.S. Jersey Cattle Marketing Association as the first employee of the Jersey Marketing Service. He was a dairy producer for 10 years and attended both The Ohio State University and Kansas State University in Dairy Science.
