ABS RELEASES TEN NEW SIRES
DEFOREST, WISCONSIN - November 15, 2005 - ABS Global graduated ten new sires in their active line-up following the release of the November 2005 sire summary data on Monday, November 14. These sires included eight exciting Holsteins and two outstanding Jerseys. "These new sires offer a variety of traits that will satisfy our growing global market demand," stated Scott Bentley, Dairy Product Manager. "The unique combination of breed-leading health and fertility traits, milk, components, calving ease and type makes this one of most anticipated new release group of sires in ABS history." 29HO10818 Paradise-R BLACK INK-ET*TV is bred for long lives with a pedigree of Sailor (+3.2 PL), Duster (+4.2), Elton, and Aerostar. BLACK INK excels in all health and management traits, where he is 2.78 on Somatic Cell Score, +1.4 Daughter Pregnancy Rate and +4.0 Productive Life. These traits along with his foot and leg composite and foot angle, which are both over 2 points, make his daughters ideally suited for any dairy environment. ABS' highest type new release sire is 29HO10808 Rockalli BRADLEY*TV. He brings a very appealing sire stack and cow family to dairy producers looking to increase type as he hails from the same cow family as 29HO9023 ROY. BRADLEY is an early, high ranking BW Marshall son that comes in over +2.51 PTAT and +2.11 Udder Composite. Plus, with his low calving ease (7%) and high milk production, he is a great cross on any cow or heifer. Coming in at #14 on the Top 100 TPI list as ABS’ highest new release TPI sire is 29HO10726 Sandy-Valley FABRIZIO-ET*TV. This Emerson son hails from the world famous Faith cow family, being the son of Sandy-Valley Manfd Friendly VG-86 and grandson of Sandy-Valley B-WD Frisco-ET VG-87. It’s no surprise that FABRIZIO is one of the highest milk yield bulls at ABS and ranks in the Top 5 for Fat pounds, as this cow family has a highly reliable track record of transmitting fat pounds and percentages. He is also a good fit for the heifer pens with his low 7% Calving Ease. 29HO10563 Vision-Gen MANHATTAN*TV sires cows with tremendous capacity and plenty of strength, depth, and frame, just like his sire stack of Addison X Gibbon would indicate. He transmits outstanding feet and legs to his daughters with a +1.87 Feet & Legs Composite. MANHATTAN is also a high milk yield and high TPI sire that can add profits to a dairy’s bottom line. The Wisconsin-bred bull 29HO10728 Wesswood-D MISSION graduates into the ABS line-up at number 15 on the Top 100 TPI list. His Excellent Rudolph dam excels in management traits and is backed by a pedigree stack that is known for its ability to transmit Productive Life, Calving Ease, Somatic Cell Score and Daughter Pregnancy Rate. This low 6% calving ease sire is nearly Rock Solid and is well over +1.00 for Type, Udders and Feet and Legs. MISSION is also a high production bull that sires adequate strength and tremendous rear udders. Global appeal certainly describes the new Genus Moet-bred bull, 2910462 MOET NANSEN. His sire, Tugolo, is recognized as one of the all-time industry greats with 25,000 daughters and remains nearly +1500 TPI and +88 Fat. He is also a maternal half brother to ABS great 29HO0268 TOLDO, and NANSEN's Maternal Grand Sire, Gibbon, remains one of the breed’s best SOUTHWIND sons. He is from the MOET Gibbon Cadet cow family, known for consistently breeding cows with high producer satisfaction and longevity. NANSEN carries on this fine family tradition and is already the most popular unit selling bull in the UK. 29HO10621 Hickorymea OTTAWA-P*RC is an exciting first for ABS and the industry, as he is a unique Homozygous Polled sire and a Red Carrier. This is a first of a kind offering. We have confidence in this bull’s cow family with OTTAWA-P being a half brother to the high ranking 29HO10446 OSWALD-P, a May Graduate that is still nearly +1600 TPI. OTTAWA-P sires cows with moderate frames and dairy form, shallow udders, and outstanding feet and legs. Another international favorite that graduates in the ABS Global line-up is 29HO10735 Gea Aaron SHEVA-ET. Fancy type and low calving ease only begin to describe this outstanding Aaron son. The “Pride of Italy”, SHEVA ranks an impressive #1 for Feet & Legs, #2 for Udders, and #3 for Type in Italy while offering an ultra low 6% calving ease. This Rock Solid® Genetics sire transmits high milk yield with nearly ideal feet and legs and udders. SHEVA has already been launched with great success in Italy and now globally. ABS also graduated two very exciting Jerseys sires, the first of which is 29JE3301 SC Gold Dust Paramount IATOLA-ET. This high type PARAMOUNT son has generated much interest in the show ring, where he sired a second place Jr. Two-Year-Old at 2005 Central National Jersey Show held in Madison, Wis. His +1.8 PTAT is no surprise when you consider his strong show winning pedigree combination of C Tops Impressive and Duncan Belle. 29JE3314 Woodstock LEXINGTON-ET is the final ABS new release sire for the November sire summary. His pedigree stack of HALLMARK X Alf X Berretta brings Jersey breeders a balanced combination of high production and type, where he is ABS’ highest JPI and Net Merit bull at +198 and +392, respectively. Early LEXINGTON daughters are also stylish at +1.6 PTAT and have great high, wide rear udders and offer superior component tests.
