ABS-SIRED ANIMALS AND BULL MOTHERS EXCEL AT WORLD DAIRY EXPO

 

DEFOREST, WISCONSIN -October 21, 2005 – ABS-sired animals and bull mothers took home numerous champion honors during the dairy breeds shows held in conjunction with World Dairy Expo October 3-7 in Madison, Wis.

The ABS sires, 94HO0848 Carrousel DISTRIGENE-RED, 94HO01056 Markwell KITE*RC, 94HO8410 Indianhead RED MARKER*RC and 29AY7645 Forever Schoon SPECIAL K produced daughters that won champion honors in their respective shows. The 94 stud code is owned by St. Jacobs ABC, Inc. of Canada, the long-time exclusive global marketing partner of ABS Global, Inc.

In the International Red and White Holstein Show, the Grand Champion, Lavendar Ruby Redrose-Red, owned by Rosedale of Oxford, Wis. is the dam of the wildly popular September Storm son, 94HO0860 RAMPAGE-RED. This cow also claimed Supreme Champion honors of this year’s World Dairy Expo. The Reserve Grand Champion & Intermediate Champion in the Red & White Show was Red Vision Dis Della-Red-ET, a 94HO0848 DISTRIGENE-RED daughter, owned by Kingsmill Farm II, LLC of Durham, NC. In addition, a 94HO10156 KITE*RC daughter, Tip-View Skyler –Red, exhibited by Brock Binversie of Reedsville, Wis. was named Grand Champion of the Junior Show.

94HO8410 RED MARKER*RC sired the Grand Champion of the International Holstein Show, Budjon Redmarker Desire, shown by Budjon Farms and Jeremy Nitz of Lomira, Wis. She went on to be named the Reserve Supreme Champion of World Dairy Expo. This outstanding RED MARKER daughter is also an ABS bull mother as she has two Durham sons entering the ABS/St. Jacobs ABC Judge’s Choice™ Program.

Huronia Centurion Veronica 20J from Arethusa Farm in Litchfield, Conn. was named Grand Champion of the Central National Jersey Show for the second consecutive year. ABS’ 94JE3437 VINDICATION is a Whistler son of this Champion. Also in the Jersey Show, a Five-Year-Old daughter of 94JE3083 REMAKE, Smart Remake Enchantment, from Craig Martin, Olivet, Mich., claimed Grand Champion honors in the Junior Show.

An ABS-sired daughter claimed the Intermediate and Reserve Grand Champion honors of the Open Show and Grand Champion of the Junior Show in the Central National Ayrshire Show. This 29AY7635 SPECIAL K daughter, Val D’estrie Special K Lolly, owned by Heather Morrell of Cochranton, Penn. was also the Reserve Supreme Champion of the Kingsmill Farm II International Futurity.

In the 2005 Central National Guernsey Show, Four-Winds Destinys Child from Clark & Joy Vilter of Hartland, Wis., was named Grand Champion. The ABS Judge’s Choice Guernsey sire, 94GU0951 DELTA, is from the same cow family, namely the prolific Westlynn Tom Dee cow family.

Finally, the Grand Champion of the Central National Brown Swiss Show, Old Mill E Snickerdoodle, shown by Allen Bassler, Jr. of Upperville, Va., took home Champion honors for the fourth year in a row. Her Collection son will arrive at ABS this fall.
