DR. WALTON HONORED BY ABS GLOBAL
DEFOREST, WISCONSIN -October 12, 2005 – ABS Global Inc. proudly dedicated its new Distribution Center to Dr. Robert Walton on October 5, 2005. Dr. Walton joined friends, family and ABS Employees and Representatives from around the world to reflect on his contributions to ABS and the industry. 
"Dr Walton’s legacy is his dedication and energy to identify and adapt new technology that benefited beef and dairy producer’s world-wide," said Richard Smith, ABS Dairy Sire Acquisition Manager. Dr. Walton has played a huge role in the history of ABS Global. Starting in 1962, Walton strove to provide a unique style of leadership and direction for the company. Walton combined the technological abilities of ABS and coupled them with strong marketing concepts and international influence to help create what ABS is today. After 29 years with ABS, Walton retired, however, continues to serve as a consultant to ABS. The new Distribution Center, which was named after Dr. Walton is 13,000 square feet and houses 5.5 million units of semen in 80 tanks. Roger Breunig ABS Global Facility Manager said, “Just like Dr. Walton, the new Distribution Center is technology that is ahead of its time.” The ventilation system is state of the art and can turn over the air in four minutes if needed. The temperature is maintained at 67 degrees year- round. Comment after comment reflected the adoration and appreciation of Dr. Walton. Dr. Dennis Funk Chief Genetics Office for ABS Global said, "Bob was not just a boss he was a friend." A note from Dr. Walton’s sister Jane Cowperthwaite read, "He is our moral compass and role model. From you we learned, integrity is never negotiable." It is this type of inspiration and influence that Dr. Walton has upon ABS Global and the A.I. industry as a whole. In turn, the dedication of Dr. Walton to ABS will be continually recognized with the use of the excellent new Distribution Center.
