ABS BULLIEVERS RAISE OVER $7,000 FOR DEFOREST RELAY FOR LIFEDEFOREST, WISCONSIN -August 24, 2005 – The ABS Bullievers Relay for Life Team rallied together with other local businesses and community members to participate in the 9th annual Relay for Life benefiting cancer research. The event was held August 12th at the DeForest Area High School track. "We at ABS have a lot to be proud of for our continued strong support of this community event," states Alan Carlon, Credit and Collection Manager and organizer of the ABS Bullievers Team. "Due to the generosity of each ABS employee, ABS donated $7,085 to the DeForest Relay for Life." ABS Global employees participated in various events including benefit lunches, jeans week, muffin sales, and a silent auction. ABS Global also donated $1,500 to sponsor the opening ceremony at the event. The DeForest Relay for Life was a huge success, raising over $128,000. This brings the nine year total to nearly $1,000,000. This much needed money will go to research which is making strides to find a cure for cancer. Today, over 9.8 million Americans are survivors of cancer due in part to money donated through Relay for Life events across the country.
