FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ABS GRADUATES FIVE NEW
SIRES
DEFOREST,
WISCONSIN - May 13, 2005 - Following the release of new sire summary information from USDA on May 9, ABS Global released five new bulls into their active line-up. Four of these new releases were Holstein sires and the remaining release was a Brown Swiss sire.
"These new releases fit well into the dairy sire team and compliment our active line-up," stated Scott Bentley, Dairy Product Manager. "They excel in the important type traits for longevity such as correct feet and legs and well attached udders. They also rank extremely well for health and fertility traits."
29HO10665 Carters-Corner AGENT-ET*TV is the first new graduate for the May Sire Summary run. This Aaron x Manfred comes from the famous Nue-Way Aerostar Alli cow family in the U.S. that produced the elite TPI leader 29HO10681 ALTON. AGENT is a Rock Solid® Genetics bull with 141 daughters in 76 herds that excels in Feet and Legs with a +2.37 Feet and Legs Composite Score. He also transmits snug, tight, long-lasting udders with his +2.62 Udder Cleft and +2.67 Udder Depth scores.
ABS' new Durham son is 29HO10672 Eastview DOUBLE DARE*TV, from the well-known Eastview Farm in Virginia. DOUBLE DARE is the highest new *TV Durham son on the USA TPI list at +1663, claiming the number 25 spot. He is bred to offer vast improvement in secondary traits such as Somatic Cell Score, Fertility, and Herd Life. His +2.00 Frame Scores make him an easy choice for use across many current ABS second crop daughters.
The ABS calving ease new release for this summary is 29HO10641 Pasen MANGO-ET*TV. MANGO’s low 6% Calving Ease insures immediate use in heifer pens around the world. This Aaron X Prescott is nearly +1600 TPI with a super linear type pattern. His daughters are bred to track straight and easily on a steep heel as would be expected from the sire stack. In addition, with his +1.55 Udder Composite, MANGO hits the mark by combining close front teats with a deep udder cleft on shallow, well attached udders.
Johansson Sailor SPOTLITE*TV is a Sailor x Patron from the Southwind Saturday cow family. Spotlite is nicely plus for fat and protein percentage at +.06 and +.07 respectively, while being a good source of milk yield. His daughters have very balanced frames with plenty of strength and substance. His combination of over 1 point on type and feet and legs make him a natural fit for many markets.
The Brown Swiss New Release is 29BS3771 Blessing Ensign BROKER-ET, an early type leader at +.8 Type. This Ensign son comes to ABS from the outstanding Blessing herd in Indiana. His high milk yield combined with fine udders offer dairy producers the genetics to make fancy, profitable cows. He moves into the #4 PTI spot at ABS and compliments the February release 29BS3769 ZEUS.
