ABS GRADUATES THIRTEEN NEW SIRES

DEFOREST, WISCONSIN - February 17, 2005 – ABS Global released thirteen new bulls on February 14. Seven of the Holstein new releases earned spots in the top fifty on the February 2005 Holstein Association Top 100 TPI list.

Coming in at number 5 on the top 100 TPI list, 29HO10681 Bo-Irish ALTON-ET* cv is the Holstein breed’s highest new release for TPI and Net Merit dollars. This Addison son, who traces back to the world famous Patron Allie, boasts a +1721 TPI, +50 Fat and +62 Protein. With this pedigree and his high component values, ALTON offers profitable improvement in all key traits.

A Dixie-Lee Aaron son from an Excellent Prescott, 29HO10493 Lutz-Brookview BURT-ET*TV combines a high type cow family with a globally proven sire. His nearest four dams are all Excellent and average over 4.0% Fat. They bred true into the 5th generation as BURT is +.13% Fat and sires picture perfect udders. With his sire stack of Aaron X Prescott X Leadman, he will be a feet and legs specialist as he is over +2.00 for F&L Composite. Plus, his low 7% calving ease and high components give producers the ability to use him in their heifer pens.

29HO10607 Dordell CONCORD-ET*TV is a CONVINCER son that is in the ABS Top 10 for yield traits and is +.11% Fat and +.03% Protein. His daughters are capacious cows with a deep rib and he makes an ideal cross on all Blackstar breeding such as ROY, GORDON and BETA.

Another CONVINCER son, 29HO10615 Den-K CUMULUS-ET*TV, sires black, silky hided daughters that really capture the attention of dairy producers. With values of +1685 Milk and +45 Protein, he is an ABS top 10 sire for Milk and Protein and his daughters milk with ease. CUMULUS also stamps picture perfect udders at +1.91 Udder Composite.

29HO10440 Ammon Farm DYSON-ET*TV is an ABS frame leader and a foot and leg improver. These wide muzzled cows are built to last with plenty of strength and capacity in their powerful frames. His foot angle, leg set, and rear legs rear view are outstanding and helped him secure a place on the ABS Top 10 list for Foot and Leg Composite. In the protein breeds, ABS released two outstanding sires. The first of these is a polled bull, 29JE3268 Dutch Hollow DIRECTOR-P. He sires tall daughters that are made to last with a good leg, snuggly attached fore udders and high, wide rear udders.

29JE3293 Sunset Canyon MILLION Heir-ET added more than 100 new daughters to his proof in the past 90 days and has confirmed his abilities to sire extreme differences in the cheese yield per pound of milk produced. MILLION is now +78 pounds of fat with a +.40% for fat test and +25 pounds of protein with a +.12% for protein test. With these components, he has a great ability to improve producers’ bottom line.
