ABS Bull Mothers Garner Top Honors at 2004 World Dairy Expo

DEFOREST, WISCONSIN - October 11, 2004 - Several ABS Global bull mothers took home top awards at the 2004 World Dairy Expo which was held September 29 through October 2 in Madison, Wisconsin. Among these winners were Hillcroft Leader Melanie and Huronia Centurion Veronica, who were named the Supreme and Reserve Supreme Champions, respectively, at the show's closing ceremonies on Saturday evening.

"ABS is the home of Showtime sires that create the show winners of tomorrow," states Scott Bentley, ABS Global Dairy Product Manager. "We are proud to offer our customers genetics from the world’s greatest show cows."

The Reserve Supreme Champion, Huronia Centurion Veronica, was the winning Four-Year-Old Cow and Grand Champion of the Central National Jersey Show. Veronica, who is also owned by Arethusa Farm, is the dam of the Judge’s Choice Jersey bull 94JE3437 VINDICATION.

Another standout ABS bull mother in the International Holstein Show was Budjon-JK Linjet Eileen-ET, from John & Thomas Cull and Joel Kietzman of Lomira, Wisconsin. This winning Five-Year-Old and Best Bred and Owned Cow of the Show took home the Reserve Senior Champion honors. 29HO11669 EISENHOWER, her Stormatic son, is now available from ABS.

Eileen's maternal sister, Budjon-JK Encore Electra-ET, also owned and exhibited by John & Thomas Cull & Joel Kietzman of Lomira, Wisconsin was the fourth place 125,000 lb cow in the show. Electra’s Durham son, 94HO11680 EXCLUSIVE, will be available this fall.
