EASTVIEW MEADOWLORD RETIRED FROM ABS LINE-UP

DEFOREST, WISCONSIN – December 1, 2003 – 29 H6735 Eastview MEADOWLORD-ET*TV was recently put to sleep due to age related issues at the age of 13 years and 9 months at the ABS Canada bull facility in Ontario.

"MEADOWLORD may be the world’s greatest Blackstar son," says Pierpaolo Dordoni, ABS Italia General Manager. "He is a very balanced bull that produces cows that are long lasting and that make money for the breeder."

Bred by Eastview Farm, Inc. of Beaver Dam, Va., MEADOWLORD dominated international markets for nearly a decade due to his superior component production and superb type. MEADOWLORD’s latest PTA data from the November 2003 sire summary includes a tremendous Fat percent of +0.15 and a Protein percent of +0.04. In addition, his low Somatic Cell Score of +2.91 and his positive productive life ensure his daughters will stay in producer’s herds. Another prime factor for MEADOWLORD’s international success are his positive composites, especially a +2.31 Dairy Comp., and +1.37 Body Comp. along with +0.89 Foot and Leg Comp. and +0.79 Udder Comp.

"MEADOWLORD has been a great bull for ABS Australia due to his all-around ability and great farmer satisfaction," says Graeme Gillan, ABS Australia General Manager. "His daughters combined capacity, well-attached udders and positive components."

MEADOWLORD has sold over 800,000 units of semen during his time at ABS/St. Jacobs. His lifetime units sold ranks in the top five all-time for ABS Global.
