FIVE RECEIVE BEEF REPRESENTATIVE OF THE YEAR HONORS

 

DEFOREST, WISCONSIN - October 22, 2003 –Five ABS Professional Independent Representatives received Representative of the Year awards for their districts at the 2003 Beef Division Representative Round Table Banquet held in Madison, WI.

"Our Representatives are the best in the beef industry," states Beef Manager, Doug Frank. "Their dedication to the industry and expertise has helped ABS achieve the highest sales volume in the industry and record market share numbers in the first quarter of 2003."

The Representative of the Year award is based on a combination of sales units, sales revenue, percent increase in sales, and overall customer satisfaction. Each beef district in the U.S. Beef Division was represented by one outstanding Representative to receive this honor.

Wayne Eatinger of Thedford, Nebraska is the District 712 Representative of the Year who has served ABS as an Independent Sales Representative for 17 years, and is a member of Eatinger Cattle Company, which just celebrated 125 years of ranching in Cherry County. ABS District 712 consists of Nebraska, Colorado and Southeast Wyoming.

District 915 winner is Dennis Engelmeyer of Watertown, South Dakota, who has been with ABS as an Independent Sales Representative for 14 years. District 915 includes Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, and parts of Iowa and Minnesota.

Steve Platt of Pilot Rock, Oregon is the Representative of the Year for District 711. He has been an ABS Independent Sales Representative for five years, during which time he has continued to grow his A.I. business despite turbulent markets and a drought. ABS District 711 consists of Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Nevada and Utah.

Prescott, Iowa native Doug Birt is the Representative of the Year from District 704 who joined ABS as an Independent Sales Representative in December of 2001. During this short time with ABS, Birt has developed a strong and growing customer base in Southwest Iowa. ABS District 704 consists of Missouri, parts of Illinois, Kansas, Iowa and Arkansas.

Todd & Trina Stum, are residents of Syracuse, Kansas, joined ABS as an Independent Sales Representative in April of 2002, and quickly showed their dedication to the beef industry by earning Representative of the Year honors in District 708. ABS District 708 is comprised of Western Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, parts of Arkansas and Louisiana.
