ABS’ PARENT COMPANY EXPORTS TO CHILE

DEFOREST, WISCONSIN - August 8, 2003 - ABS Global, Inc.’s parent company Genus, plc. has exported its first shipment of Friesian dairy semen to Chile.

“The importation of Friesian semen will enhance Chilean dairy producer’s genetic opportunities,” states Jerry Punzel, ABS Global International Product Coordination Manager. “We anticipate that this order will be the first of many to South American markets.”

The shipment to Chile contained 1,250 units of frozen semen. One thousand units are from Friesian bulls. Friesian genetics being shipped included FH2196 Lakemead ALPHONSO and FH2253 Patterton PROMISE. ALPHONSO is well known for his ability to improve feet and legs which increases his progeny’s productive life. In addition, PROMISE also sires progeny with exceptional productive lives. He also increases milk and fat production while maintaining feet and leg correctness.

Friesian genetics should be a great fit for Chile’s grazing producers as they will provide out-cross genetics to traditional Holstein families. Friesians are also smaller framed cattle that milk well in grazing conditions.
