FAUST JOINS ABS GLOBAL AS DIRECTOR OF EXTERNAL RESEARCH

DEFOREST, WISCONSIN -April 8, 2003 - ABS Global announced that Marjorie Faust will be its new Director of External Research.

“We at ABS feel that research will lead to the products and services that will contribute to the business growth of our customers,” says Chief Genetics Officer, Dr. Dennis Funk. “Faust’s background and experience make her a perfect fit for our research team.”

An undergraduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Faust later earned her Masters of Science and Ph.D. in Animal Breeding from North Carolina State University. Faust comes to ABS from Iowa State University, where she served as an Associate Professor and Extension Dairy Specialist for the past twelve years. In addition to her many responsibilities at ISU, Faust is currently serving on many industry committees such as: Federation of Animal Science Societies - Biotechnology Committee, ASAS Contemporary and Emerging Issues Committee, Brown Swiss Association of the USA - Genetics Committee, and the Agricultural Biotechnology Stewardship Technical Committee. Faust also serves as an ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Dairy Science and Journal of Animal Science.

In her new position, Faust will be responsible for identifying, developing and coordinating research projects that will lead to differentiated product lines for ABS. Faust will be relocating to the DeForest area.
