ABS REPRESENTATIVE CERTIFICATION
PROGRAM SUCCESSFULL
DEFOREST,
WISCONSIN -February 7, 2003 - One hundred forty-three certificates
have been distributed to ABS Global Representatives in at least one
of the following: Estrous Synchronization, Reproductive Management
System (RMS ), or Records Monitoring modules offered through a new
certification program by the ABS Global Technical Service Department.
The certification program was launched in October of 2002. "The
use of certification modules for ABS Representatives who are providing
reproductive management services ensures an accurate, consistent,
high-quality product offering, capable of producing superior results
for our customers," states Dr. Neil Michael, Director of Technical
Services.
For example, the estrous synchronization module tests a Representative's
knowledge of bovine heat cycles, synchronization protocols, hormonal
use, and how to interpret heat detection results.
Several other topics for certification have been identified as valuable
in today's beef and dairy operations. Modules in those areas that
are being produced and will be administered to Representatives include:
Herd Health, Nutrition, Facilities Cow Comfort and Cooling, A.I. Technique,
Milk Quality - Investigative Analysis, Designing Effective Milk Quality,
Genetics, Monitoring Body Condition Scores and Lameness, Market Planning,
Small Business Skills and Time and Territory Management.
The certification program provides both fundamental and advanced training
opportunities for ABS Representatives, and results in certification
for two years from the time of training. As a result of the training
certified ABS Representatives are not only providing superior genetics
to their customers they are also becoming an integral resource for
good management decisions. In essence Representatives are partnering
with customers to create a better environment in which products perform
to improve a customer's return on investment while tapping into the
best management practices from around the country.
