CODEE SPEEDS UP GENETIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM™ PROCESS

DEFOREST, WISCONSIN -October 11, 2002 - ABS Global's Genetic Management System (GMS™) has decreased processing time with new handheld computers called "Codee".
"Codee has enabled us to speed up our processing time, allowing us to serve customers with same-day or next-day results," says Andy Stiefel, Program Development Manager

As fully functioning HP Jornada handheld computer, Codee is not only smaller and lighter than the old Telzan "Wowser," it also has many more uses. When using Codee, Evaluators are able to use spreadsheet and word processing documents, check email and have Internet access. Most importantly, Codee allows the Evaluator to upload on-farm scoring information directly to the ABS computer system, allowing for a decreased turn-around-time in information processing. Codee will also be able to interface with the new GMS Program being developed.

Currently there are over twenty-five Codees in use by GMS Evaluators in the USA, Brazil, and Australia. More will be distributed to other European, African, Latin and South American countries after training sessions during World Dairy Expo.
